Sound: Excellent FM broadcast.

Comments: This was recorded off FM Radio [Mexico] onto analog cassettes a few days after the actual concert was held, back in '92. The audio was then transferred to .wav's, and onto CD-R. This is an infintely better recording than the Energy 99 broadcast. Another plus is that there are much fewer station ID's in this version. When they do come up, they are barely audible, anyway. Most songs on this recording originally faded in/out, likely due to commercials that have been edited out. I've corrected most of these, so that the songs are true DAO, but I was not able to correct all of them. Some songs on CD2 still fade in/out. The last thing I should mention is that'Never Enough' fades out a few seconds early at the end of CD1.

Sound: Fair FM broadcast.
Comments: All too many times during this recording, a pre-recorded voice chimes in with "Energy 99" over the audio. Also, Robert's voice occasionally pops up here and there saying "Hello, this is Robert from The Cure, and you're listening to Energy 99, Monterrey, Mexico" [which is kind of cool]. The sound quality here is no where close to the other version of this broadcast [see review above], but I keep this one around becase I worked freakin' hard on it transferring it over from my original cassettes to CD-R!
